Day 2 :SAP SD Module For BI

We need to have some basic understand of the modules before we start the implementation for the module. Let me try to give you some basic overview of Sales module of SAP ECC which will help you to gather requirements. First thing remember for every module do understand the business flow . this is important. Guys Please note....!

I have given above a small picture to help you understand the module.

A small Example: Let us say you our www.globalbsc.com which manufactures Laptop bags.
You get orders from companies and you deliver the same in those schools. Now lets see where sales process starts. There is xyz company which calls you and says that they have requirement for 300 bags. Now how this sales process begins:-

1. They ask you to send a document which will carry prices for the bags and discounts and mail the same. This document is initially produce by us( www.globalbsc.com) and shared with the xyz company. THIS IS CALLED QUOTATION.
2. This quotation is received by xyz company and approved by their Purchasing team . They send you a order to buy the 300 bags . This document is called Purchase order
3. This purchase order will become a base for you to process sales. You book a entry in your ERP system or other system to keep a track this is called 'Sales Order'. 
4. Once this process is completed you start a Selecting bags and packing them this is a sales process called as PICKING.
5. Once this is completed you pack the bags and send them to the xyz company. you will also create a entry in system updating that bags are sent. There is a document which is sent to xyz company which will carry the information what is sent .This is a document which may be called as BILLING DOCUMENT.(say we call this as Invoice ). This process in SD Is called BILLING.
6. Now in system you should also track what money you need to receive from xyz company. This is a process which gets connected to finance and is called ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE..

Broadly if you observe sales and distribution is comprised of 4 basic process steps:-

1. Sales- Involes quotation (ABOVE 1-3)
2. Shipping-Picking
3. Billing-step 5 
4. FIAR-6

I would suggest if you still want to read more then do find my new blogs but at this moment i will say this is sufficient as a beginner.
